CARE AT HOME CLINICAL
iOS App for IN-HOME healthCARE
I worked to replace an aging product. The goal was to create an iOS app where nurses, therapists, and other care workers can complete all their documentation. This was a 3-year multi-phased project with an industry leading long-term care Electronic Medical Records company.
THE CHALLENGE
Technical limitations within the original app was outdated and being sunsetted. I worked with UX designers, product leaders, iOS developers, clinical experts, and users to envision a clinician-centered app that will ease the mental burden, reduce documentation time, and not detract from patient attention.
THE Outcome
Beta-users were able to easily begin using the new app after 1 hour of training or no training at all. Although beta testing was intended to validate functionality prior to maximizing efficiency, we already saw nurse users decrease their documentation time on average 15 minutes per week. The findings from the beta-test are being used to inform implementation and training resources. Based on our successful testing, a full pilot program is scheduled for Fall 2021.

The Approach
We broke that project into phases that could be designed, built, and released to beta-users. The new app removed an number of workarounds and changed the workflow to be more streamlined. Working with Customer Success and Implementation, we are creating super-users and self-paced training to for upcoming whole-agency pilots.
